Trees for Life's volunteering opportunities

Dundreggan Tree Nursery Volunteers
Do you have some time each week or month and live near to our Dundreggan estate in Glen Moriston? As a regular local volunteer you will significantly contribute to the success and expansion of our tree nursery. Growing rare and native tree species for planting across our Highland sites. Dundreggan nursery is easily accessible and volunteering here would suit people of all ages and physical abilities.

Conservation Days
Conservation days run in a variety of locations across our project area. You will plant and monitor trees in Glen Affric, pot seedlings at Dundreggan Nursery in Glen Moriston or Rhododendron bashing at Garve.
Project sites and activities vary for a range of interests and physical abilities. Conservation days run fortnightly on a Wednesday with additional days as needed. We run a bus on these days that can pick up volunteers from Findhorn, Forres, Nairn, Inverness and sometimes Drumnadrochit and Beauly depending on project location.

Long Term Volunteering
Could you give 1–3 months of your time between March and October to work with our Trees for Life team?
Based at Dundreggan estate, as a long term volunteer you will be provided with food and accommodation and benefit from full-time practical conservation work experience.
Dundreggan is a 4000 Ha estate set in stunning scenery close to the Great Glen, 7 miles from Invermoriston. As part of a team of volunteers you will work on a range of innovative conservation projects with a focus on native woodland establishment and regeneration. Tasks will include working on our expanding tree nursery, tree planting, fertilising, felling and ring barking non-native trees. There will also be opportunities to work alongside our regular residential groups as well as other day volunteers.

If you are interested in finding out more about our volunteering opportunities and/or would like to be added to our day volunteers mailing list please contact Kirsty by email kirsty@treesforlife.org.uk, or phone 01309 691292.
