*** SAVE THE DATE*** Self Directed Support Service User and Carer Event

Venue: Smithton Free Church, Smithton, Inverness

The Highland Self Directed Support (SDS) Team are holding an Event on Thursday 6^th March for service users and carers, as part of their SDS Awareness Week 3^rd – 7^th March. 

On the 6^th March we have a guest speaker – Simon Duffy, who is at the forefront of the Self Directed Support movement.  There will also be various presentations, work-shops, stalls and the SDS team will be on hand to answer any questions. 

We are on the final countdown now until the implementation of the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 on the 1^st April 2014 and the Highland SDS team are busy offering training, support and guidance to service users and carers, health and social care professionals, service providers, Third Sector, voluntary and community groups across Highland.

As part of our Self Directed Support Awareness Week our team are focusing on raising awareness within a variety of citizen groups in locations across the Highlands. There is a particular focus for each day:

Monday 3^rd March – Children

Tuesday 4^th March – Carers

Wednesday 5^th March – Mental health
