A new FREE magazine, called Family Focus Scotland launched last week by the Glasgow based Herald and Times Group, publishers of The Scottish Farmer, The Herald, Evening Times, Sunday Herald and The National newspaper.

Family Focus Scotland is Scotland’s newest and largest parenting magazine dedicated to serving families, grandparents, teachers, carers and all those who have an active interest in the well-being of our future generation.

Whether you’re a tight knit twosome or a member of a large sprawling clan, family for most of us is at the heart of everything we do, but the reality of that can mean many different things. Family Focus Scotland aims to inform, nurture and support each step from pregnancy to celebrating a long life well lived, with everything possible in between.

Editor Joan McFadden, a widely recognised and respected journalist and radio presenter, says; "I'm really excited about Family Focus Scotland, we're covering so many issues and subjects that mean a great deal to our readers. Some of it will be light hearted and highly entertaining. Some offering helpful hints and tips with some covering very emotive and moving situations. This is family life in Scotland today, often happy, sometimes just routine, occasionally heartbreaking - but always interesting."

Joan adds “Family Focus Scotland aims to shine a spotlight on families today, whether thriving and growing, struggling against adversity, coping with tragedy, celebrating achievements or planning great things.”

The magazine has a circulation of 60,000 copies and an estimated readership of 300,000 per issue. It will be distributed via a unique network of outlets specifically designed to provide maximum availability across Scotland’s major towns and cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling, and will be found in health and community centres, doctors surgeries, local government public buildings, museums, libraries, leisure and entertainment centres. Selected cafes, coffee shops and shopping centres are also targeted to ensure that the demand for this title is fulfilled to its optimum potential.

The Sunday Herald also inserted a copy of the launch issue with its first edition on the 30th November which covers Carlisle, Galashiels, Perth, Dundee, Inverness Aberdeen and all Scottish Islands as well as further copies being distributed earlier this week with sales of The Evening Times, The Herald and The National.

Magazine Publisher Darren Bruce says of the new publication; “Following our hugely successful launch of Scottish Gardener earlier this year and the previous year’s Scottish Walks and Scottish Cycling to our growing portfolio of freemium titles, Family Focus Scotland is our newest addition which concentrates on the excitements, exhaustions and experiences of family life.” Adding “This launch will deliver a unique new and unrivalled platform for commercial partners that no other family orientated title can offer in Scotland".

Family Focus Scotland will also be available in a FREE digital edition format bringing you the same fantastic content of the print edition to read on all mobile and tablet devices including the iPad and iPhone.
