Project SEARCH is an exciting initiative that began in Cincinnati in 1996, which aims to bring significant numbers of people with a learning disability and autism into competitive paid employment. It is a partnership bringing together relevant organisations to work together effectively, between a host business, education and adult supported paid employment. The goal is to provide on-site internship experiences, acquire necessary skills for young adults with learning disabilities leading to competitive employment which to date has been very impressive. We are delighted to offer a pre-conference dinner and overview on Tuesday 24th June and all day conference on Wednesday 25th June offering delegates the opportunity to find out about this exciting model and how we can reach for the ultimate goal: employment for all Project SEARCH graduates!

This 2 day conference will celebrate all that has been achieved in Europe to date and looks to the future. Contributors will discuss the potential of Project SEARCH to make a real difference to the lives of young people with a learning disability or autism and the strategies required to support growth.

A key issue in the conference will be continuous improvement: enabling job coaches, educators, businesses and policy advisors to meet and learn from one another. We are aiming to make this conference informing, challenging and an opportunity to connect with colleagues establishing Project SEARCH across Europe and the US. There will also be a range of inspirational speakers and a variety of workshops to suit all levels of interest and lots of exciting discussion! This conference is packed with information to help both people who are new to this model and those already experienced.
